Archiving a Board or Commission While Keeping Their Documents Accessible

Occasionally boards, committees, and commissions are created to be temporary. Sometimes they simply go defunct. That doesn't mean their records don't need to be accessible.

Why use it?

To highlight important, timely Articles that site visitors can't miss.

How to use it

When posting an Article, simply check the box for "Show in announcement bar".

What will that do?

On the live website, the announcement bar will show up on the very top and will include the title of the Article and a button to read the full Article.

Important to know

The announcement bar will only show one Article at a time. By default, it will show the most recent Article according to the Article's Date field (as long as it was marked to show in the announcement bar, of course).

Helpful Tip

It is best to go back to the Article and de-select the "Show in the announcement bar" checkbox once the Article is no longer important enough to appear in the announcement bar. Of course, the article will still be available in the archive of posted Articles on your site.
